The ASAP Convention 2019

As agency members of the ASAP we regularly attend the annual convention and this year it took place at 155 Bishopsgate on the 10-11 December.

It was an action-packed program and we got the chance to attend some great sessions, picked up some key industry insights, took part in fun workshops and met many of our friends and partners within the industry.

Simon Calder put on an excellent opening keynote covering all the latest news and developments in the UK, the world, the travel sector and more in the most engaging and amusing way. Absolutely enjoyed this.

There was a great buzz throughout the day and especially in between sessions and talks when everyone would come together to share ideas and network.

We also met up with Stephen Martin who was heading up the ISAAP accreditation stand.

We believe the ISAAP accreditation is a great initiative to distinguish professional operators in the serviced apartment space and we proudly wear our ISAAP accreditation badge with a full commitment to delivering high standards of service to the client and suppliers we work with and within our internal business operations.

One of the first day's morning sessions were presented by Savills and STR with some fantastic takeaways about what is going on in the sector and what we can expect to see moving forward in 2020.

There was a really interesting session from Review Pro about feedback trends and how clients are shifting away from Tripadvisor and onto Google Reviews.

There were some exciting new products on display for the serviced apartment sector especially this cloud-based security system by SALTO facilitating high-tech entry systems for properties with limited or no on-site staff.

And of course our main highlight was attending the lively Industry Panel Discussion at the end of Day 1 which included our very own Gavin Pereira sharing his thoughts on the customer experience, the industry's responsibility, the value of relationships between suppliers and agents, the importance of good communication and product clarity.

Other panellists included directors and business owners from companies such as Expedia, National Corporate Housing, Synergy Global Housing and My Serviced Apartment Consultancy.

Overall, we had a very successful day and came away with plenty of food for thought and new ideas for 2020. We look forward to the next convention.
