6 reasons why we love the new Room2 Aparthotel

We visit serviced apartments around the city of London all the time and every now and then a new property invites us around that does something exciting, something new, something we haven't seen before.

Room2 recently opened its doors on the leafy Hammersmith Grove in West London and on closer inspection, we noticed some really interesting and new customer touchpoints that certainly make it a cool, trendy and a very comfortable place to rest your head when visiting the capital for work or holiday.

Here's what we liked the most...

1. It welcomes you to the community (not just your apartment)

It sure feels nice to feel like your a local when you are in town even if its just for a short while, and at Room2 the vibe is all about getting to know your neighbourhood and being a part of the community. Walk through the main doors and check out the friendly messages and photographs across the pin board and oversized scroll pad.

As you walk into your individual apartment, an envelope with your name will reveal all sorts of useful leaflets and cards with tips and "Do's and Don'ts" to help make your stay more enjoyable. There's even a recipe to get you started.

2. A herb garden

This was a pleasant surprise. Why just have a garden when you can have a herb garden. We spotted rosemary, mint and chives among other fresh seasoning and a cute friendly hedgehog to give you company if you decided to enjoy a cup of tea on the terrace here.

The idea behind it was that you could freshly pick your herbs and go and cook up a lovely meal in the comfort of your own home from home. Which we totally love.

3. Quirky signs and retro style

The interiors were very smart with stylish retro elements making an appearance in the furniture peices, the colour schemes, the light fittings, the bathroom doors and other unexpected places too.

The entire concept runs so well throughout and really adds that something special to the ambience of the stay.

4. Handy essentials all covered

The apartments are well  kitted out with all the important basics including a dual ring electric hob, kettle, toaster, sink, cutlery, crockery, utensils and a microwave.

The bathrooms are immaculate with white a white tile background and come with fresh towels, shower cubicles, free toiletries on arrival and a hair dryer.

There's even a dining table for two which can serve as a work station if needed.

There's no shortage of facilities on-site too. The laundrette is up on the 4th floor (access via a lift) and had two washing machines, two dryers, a sink with washing up liquid, an ironing board, an iron and some yoga mats.

 5. Smart technology

Techno-wise, this aparthotel ticks the boxes too. You can expect secure key code entry systems, 40 inch smart TVs, and USB sockets to charge all your portable devices easily.

5. Well-stocked fuel zone

And last but not the least, the vending machine near the lifts was also another great service touch for in-house guests who found themselves in desperate need of a pick-me up like popcorn, chocolate, crisps, fizzy drinks or other useful essentials like toothbrushes, creams, wipes and detergent.
