Top Places for Free Wi-Fi in London

If you are in London on business or you just need a quiet place to check your e-mails away from the bustling cafe chains, we have the perfect list for you. While the majority of our London serviced apartments feature free Wi-Fi, our best places for free Wi-Fi in London are ideal for those looking for a space to work while out and about or for somewhere to hold a quick business meeting. Let's face it, there's no shortage of cafes with free Wi-Fi in London but here we give you a few options that will pique your interest and even make a great backdrop for that important business meeting...

Barbican Centre

In the heart of The City, let the brutalist architecture of this London behemoth inspire your work with it's cavernous interiors and rigid, Orwellian exterior. Free Wi-Fi is available in the foyers and they also have a few coffee shops inside as well as the Gin Joint (with an extensive list of London gins), for when 6pm rolls around! Not ideal at the weekends as it is usually swarming with kids but during the week, it is generally less crowded and an ideal spot to catch up on e-mails if you are in the city.
Opening hours: Mon–Sat: 9am–11pm, Sun: 10am-11pm, Bank Holidays: 12 noon–11pm
Barbican Centre, Silk Street, London, EC2Y 8DS

Southbank Centre

With stunning views across the River Thames, this is in one of the nicest spots in London for free Wi-Fi and if you can endure the crowds of tourists and find a quiet corner on one of the upper levels, it can be a great place to scour the web and catch up on work. Offering a range of cafes and bars as well as a Foyles bookshop in the centre, you can whittle the day away here while gazing across the Thames.
Opening hours: See website for details.

Peyton & Byrne at The British Library

Just around the corner from King's Cross St. Pancras, Peyton & Byrne at The British Library offers a sedate space with stunning high ceilings ideal for work outside of the office. A quick caffeine hit from the cafe will ensure productivity throughout the day and you are sure to feel inspired when gazing at the rows upon rows of books visible behind a glass partition from your perch in the centre of the library. Hot and cold lunch options are also available  which means that you can spend the entire day here if you need to.

The Riverfront at the BFI

Another stalwart of the London scene, the BFI Southbank is famous for its indie films and international cinema but it's riverfront cafe is also a great place to grab a coffee and catch up with your e-mails. Boasting stunning river views from it's location underneath Waterloo Bridge, this cafe is a little busier than some of the others on our list but does offer free Wi-Fi, great lunch options and a top location. Open until 11pm Monday to Saturday, you can work well into the evening at this riverside spot.
Opening hours:  Monday-Saturday, 9am-11pm, Sunday and bank holidays, 10am-11pm

Cellarium Cafe at Westminster Abbey

A picturesque and historic place to set up a business meeting or perhaps even work on your next novel, the abbey can inspire you with its history and stunning architectural details. The Cellarium is the actual place where the Benedictine monks used to store their food and drink in the monastery and the room still retains stunning original features such as beautiful arched windows and 14th century vaults. Grab a spot on the terrace if you can to enjoy amazing views of the abbey itself while you work.
