Best Vegetarian Restaurants in London

To celebrate National Vegetarian Week (19-25 May), we have put together a list of the best vegetarian restaurants in London. Whether you are a committed vegetarian or just need a break from the 'meat-sweats', these restaurants will restore your faith in the humble vegetable. Even the most committed carnivore will be swayed by some of the dishes at these popular London restaurants. Divided into north, south, east and west, there is a vegetarian restaurant in London that will cater to all tastes and budgets. Take a look at our list below and let us know your thoughts!

North

Primrose Hill's Manna specialises in seasonal produce and is very popular among the North London set. Quite a formal setting, the menu is on the expensive side with prices as high as £14 for a main course. They are well known for their 'Bangers and Mash' and their 'Vegan Sunday Roast' is legendary.
Address: 4 Erskine Road, Primrose Hill, London NW3 3AJ
Prices: Main courses £11-£14
Honourable mentions:  Inspiral in Camden and Jai Krishna on Stroud Green Road, N4. Ottolenghi in Islington also dishes up colourful vegetarian delights but they also serve meat dishes.

South

A South London stalwart that has been going since the 1970s, Bonnington Cafe has had an interesting history beginning it's life as a squat and growing into a community cafe run by volunteer chefs. The menu changes from day to day but three courses at this homely cafe will never set you back more than £15 so it is well worth a visit.
Address: 11 Vauxhall Grove, London SW8 1TD
Prices: Mains £8

East

No list of vegetarian restaurants in London would be complete without this ultra modern take on fine dining. A complete contrast to others on our list, Vanilla Black is a restaurant which is pushing the boundaries with it's vegetarian cuisine (and the prices reflect this!). Highlights from their menu include the Yorkshire Blue Cheese Toastie and the Double Baked Ribblesdale Pudding and Smoked Croquette. Having received a recommendation from Michelin, this restaurant is an ideal spot for a special occasion for both vegetarians and those that have a love of fine dining.
Address: 17- 18 Tooks Court, London, EC4A 1LB
Prices: Two courses £29.75, three courses £39.50.

West

Mildred's is a popular haunt for Londoners and is located on Lexington Street in trendy Soho. As they say themselves, they cater for vegetarians but are 'popular with omnivores'. In amongst the barbecue joints and ramen bars, this restaurant offers vegetarian food with an international twist and serves up everything from black bean burritos to Sri Lankan curries.
Address: 45 lexington street, Soho, london, W1F 9AN
Prices: Maincourses £9.75-£10.50
Honourable mentions: Sagar in Hammersmith for South Indian cuisine.
