Best Outdoor Ice Rinks in London

The weather has gotten significantly colder in the past while and everything is feeling and looking a lot more festive. One of the best ways to get into the festive spirit is to head to one of the numerous London outdoor ice rinks dotted around the city. Whether you are an expert skater or a stumbling amateur, it's a fun way to spend some quality time with friends and family and also a great way to keep warm with some light exercise as the weather gets colder. Located near some of our London serviced apartments, we have chosen some of our favourite outdoor ice rinks for you to ponder over and plan your next London ice skating event for over the Christmas period.

So wrap up warm and get skating at one of our best ice skating rinks in London:

Skate at Somerset House

One of London's historic buildings, Somerset House features an ice rink in its expansive courtyard this Winter season and it happens to be one of the most popular ice rinks in London. Not only do they have a DJ on site after dark but you can also enhance your skating experience further with Skate Extras such as champagne and chocolates, dinner at Tom's Kitchen at Somerset House or a two night stay at the Savoy. Even without these extras, this location is an extra special one with impressive architecture looking over you as you skate. Somerset House ice rink has also recently been named one of the world's most beautiful ice skating rinks by CNN. Check the website for more information.

Natural History Museum Ice Rink

In the shadow of the Natural History Museum lies another great outdoor ice rink in London. Located in Kensington, this ice rink is located close by to many more of London's top museums such as the Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum. So when you have had your fill of culture and natural history in the museums, it's time to step outside for some unbridled fun on the ice in one of London's top outdoor ice rinks. Our third option is the aptly named Eyeskate and is located on South Bank beneath the watchful London Eye. One of the unique things about this ice rink is that you can combine the two experiences by taking a spin on the London Eye and then having a 45 minute skate on Eyeskate 2013 for a special price (please check the website for up to date information on combination tickets). After all this, you can take a stroll through The fabulously festive Winter Festival at Southbank Centre and sip some mulled wine to reheat!
