Christmas Markets in London



Tis the Season to be Jolly , and nothing makes us more jolly than Christmas stalls brimming with delicious treats and handmade delights. Experience the joy of the festive season and indulge in some lovely food and drink and look out for special gifts for friends and family that are sure to win hearts and make everyone merry.

Our favourite London Christmas Markets are :

1. Christmas Market at Winter Wonderland

New for 2010 is the Angel’s Christmas Market right at the Hyde Park entrance toWinter Wonderland. With over 100 stalls featuring the best arts & crafts from around the world as well as gourmet gifts, find that unique Christmas gift in a refreshing alternative to the high street.

2. The Super Christmas Market at Somerset House

The ever popular Super Christmas Market is back! Bag yourself original gifts from ‘All Lovely Stüff’ and ‘Shop Eastern Bloc’ as well as bargain stocking fillers at 'The Poundshop', plus free festive games and prizes from London’s most inventive independent designers.

3. Columbia Road Christmas Shopping Evenings

This charming neighbourhood of cobbled streets and independent businesses offers a more agreeable alternative to the West End crowds, and in the run-up to Christmas the shops will be opening late on Wednesday evenings (they usually only open on Sundays alongside the flower market). Originally created as a Victorian shopping arcade some 150 years ago, this East End enclave of traders offers vintage fashions, quirky artworks, quality homewares and irresistible deli goods.

4. The Dock Christmas Market at Ladbroke Grove

Designer Tom Dixon hosts this seasonal market selling design, food and wine, as well as Christmas trees and floral decorations. On Thursday evening (6-8pm) there's music from the Bonfire Band and mulled wine and roasted chestnuts in the outdoor living room.

5. Cologne Christmas Market on the South Bank

Already mentioned by us previously, this German-style Christmas market along Queen's Walk (from the Southbank Centre to the London Eye) is decorated wooden chalets selling a wide range of hand-crafted gifts and German delicacies such as Glühwein (mulled wine) and bratwursts .
