A Royal Tour of Buckingham Palace

Every year Buckingham Palace opens its doors to the world. This Summer, the special exhibitions taking place will attract thousands of visitors to come and have a royal experience at the palace. Serving as the official London residence of Britain's sovereigns since 1837, Buckingham Palace today serves as the administrative headquarters of the Monarch. Our Westminster serviced apartments are within easy reach of the palace and an ideal base for any visit to London.

The palace itself has 775 rooms including State Rooms, bedrooms for royals, guests and staff, offices and a massive 78 bathrooms! The State Rooms form the heart of the working palace and are lavishly furnished with some of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection - paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, Poussin and Canaletto; sculpture by Canova; exquisite examples of Sèvres porcelain; and some of the finest English and French furniture.

As part of the Summer Opening of the State Rooms, an exhibition of dresses, jewels, photographs, and gifts presented to Her Majesty by the people of the Commonwealth will be shown at Buckingham Palace.

Exhibition begins from 26 July - 30 September 2009. 09:45 - 18:00 (last admission 15:45)
