If you are staying in a Bayswater serviced apartment during the Summer months and looking for a nice outdoor activity to indulge in, we definitely recommend a visit to London's Serpentine Lake. Located in the heart of Hyde Park, the Lake also provides a unique habitat for a diverse variety of species of flora and fauna.
It is a great location to bring the kids with lots of activities for the little ones to enjoy such as swings, slides, a climbing frame and a paddling pool. There is also a Lido Cafe where you can enjoy a welcome break with a stunning view of the lake. If you fancy a dip in the lake, there is an specific 30m X 100m area allocated to open water swimming which is open to the public. Peddle boats are also available for you to explore the lake itself. The Serpentine Lake is a popular attraction in London and one of the many things to do in Hyde Park.
The Serpentine Gallery is also hugely popular with visitors to London and is located just a short walk away from the Serpentine Lido.
In 2002, the Serpentine hosted the World Rowing Sprints, in which several international crews raced over 547 yards (500 m). The Serpentine Lido (Restaurant) and the Padding Pool are now open on the weekends throughout May (including May Day Bank Holiday) and seven days a week from the 1st of June to the 13th of September. Rowing boats are available for hire. Call +44 (0)20 7706 3422 for further information and bookings.
